Triggerfish

I thought these schools of Redtooth Triggerfish terribly pretty with their gorgeous velvety blue against the crystal blue sea backdrop. In April 2008, they were EVERYWHERE. It's the first time I've been shown triggerfish as visually-pleasing, and from now on, I will regard triggerfish with more kindness.

This Titan Triggerfish was picking up rocks with his mouth and dropping them. The sandy clouds you see on the left of the picture is the result of his destructive work. Triggerfish were abundant in Maldives, but not very aggressive and went about their business chomping the reef, unlike their bethren in Malaysia. Even the guides weren't worried about them, guess they knew when the nesting season is...

Even saw a big one almost three quarters of a metre sleeping, its teeth were HUGE!
