Manado is actually a city in North Sulawesi. As Singapore Airlines flies there, and because a lot of dive operators are concentrated there, divers tend to refer to Manado as the whole Northern tip of Sulawesi (encompassing Lembeh Straits, Bitung, Bunaken, mainland Manado, Gangga, and the Sangihe Islands). The Togean Islands, Wakatobi (Binongko Island) and Ujang Pandang (Makassar) are part of Central and Southern Sulawesi. |
